Durgapur girl excels in CBSE XII exam in spite of poor vision

A girl student of Hem Sheela Model School of Durgapur has stunned everyone by scoring 91.8% in her CBSE XII board exam, inspite of having vision loss of 75%. Payel, a resident of Panagarh near Durgapur, in spite of such vision impairment, made this possible because of her “never give up” attitude and the support from her school and family.

Road construction work at Panagarh stalled by villagers

Construction work of the road that is set to connect the proposed industrial park at Panagarh with NH2 has been stalled since last week, after about 900 farm labourers and share-croppers demanding compensation, locked the office of the construction company entrusted with the job of laying the road.
