Aarohan 2014 begins at NIT Durgapur

Aarohan – the Annual Techno-Management Fest of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Durgapur has begun yesterday at the institute’s Durgapur campus. This National level Techno-Management Fest of NIT Durgapur organized by the student body, Centre for Cognitive Activities (CCA) under the constant guidance of its faculty advisors will continue till 9 February (Sunday).

From a mighty modest festival which began in 2003, Aarohan in its twelfth edition now stands tall among the best in the country. In this 12th edition of Aarohan, once again NIT promises to provide the young minds a platform to participate and compete with each other to explore their talents in their own individual fields of excellence.

With more than 40 events covering all genres of technology and management, Aarohan 2014 is all set to instill the light of culture of science, technology and innovation among the participating youths.

The four-day fiesta consists of events spanning every possible field, ranging from events like Khula Maidan and Decathlon to challenge the hardcore coders, to Inspiratie and B-Plan which stimulates the grey cells of budding entrepreneurs. There are quizzes on diverse topics, and events like Junkyard Wars and Contraptions encourage the enthusiasts to apply their theoretical knowledge in the real world.

This year’s Aarohan will be graced by international luminaries, like the Nobel laureate Harry Kroto and NUS professor Prahlad Vakkadapat.

Like every year in the past Aarohan 2014 have made arrangements to rejuvenate your body and soul by turning the entire arena in to a giant dance floor. After the non-stop tech-vaganza throughout the day, Aarohan Nites is all set to turn up the volume and pump up the jam.
