Speaking about this new initiative aimed at the kids, DAYA’s president Dr. Samir Ranjan Bhowmick said, “We have undertaken a project which we have named ‘SINCHON’ under which we will be taking full responsibilities of five meritorious students from economically poor families of Class V from the next academic session beginning January 2018. We will be erecting a facility in a rented property in Saptarshi Park, Bidhannagar, where students will be staying and they will be admitted in Bidhannagar Government Sponsored Boys’ High School. Every year we plan to include five students of Class V (through exam and survey) and will teach them, nourish them and take every endeavour to make them a social conscious man with a rational outlook, all free of cost. They will be under our umbrella till they pass out class XII”.

As a part of this new initiative, DAYA organised a Written Test from 2 pm today at the Bidhannagar Government Sponsored Boys’ High School. About 50 students of Class IV, from more than 15 schools in and around Durgapur took part in the written exam.

The result will be out by 14 November afternoon. 20 top-ranked students will be selected and DAYA survey team will make assessment of the true nature of the economic condition of these students.

From these 20 students screened through written exam, 5 students will eventually get selected depending on their economic condition, mental ability and physical fitness.
