Marconi Dakshinpalli Durgapuja Committee and Mr. Lakshman Ghoshal deserves a big congratulation for organizing such a grand show at Kashiramdas play ground on 24/10/10. An open stage and open to all programme of this magnitude was indeed the biggest Sarodiya gift for the people of Durgapur.
For the common man of Durgapur, watching Shreya Ghoshal performing live is indeed a dream come true. Shreya, the biggest playback singer after Lata and Asha delighted the packed crowd with her sweet and melodious songs. Debojit Saha of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame also made the crowd to sing in his rhythm. But it was Sayantani Das, our own girl from Durgapur, who made every Durgapurian proud.
With due respect to both Shreya and Debojit, our own Sayantani made the large audience spell bound. Her performance was so much full of energy that after her performance even Shreya’s performance appeared dull. Sayantani, first sought into fame after Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and became an artist to reckon after Voice of India II. The kind of power packed performance and the kind of variety which she delivered on stage in front of such a large crowd and that too with ease is really an achievement in itself. A girl from Durgapur performing in such big stage and making the audience to dance in her own tune deserves a big big congratulation. Durgapur and Durgapurians are really hopeful that Sayantani will give us more chance to be proud of.
With this grand show, Marconi Dakshinpalli Puja Committee’s 50 year Durgapuja celebration came to a memorable end.
