A big fire broke out at Shyam Complex of Benachity Bazar on yesterday afternoon. Two shops were completed gutted and 10 other shops were partly affected. The badly affected shops were garment shops which catched fire due to short circuit.
Though loss worth lacs of Rupees were reported but major loss were averted due to prompt response by the Fire Service. Considering the crowded location of the market complex, there could have been major losses but initiatives taken by DSP Fire Department alongwith State Fire Services saved major losses.
Though initial assumptions points toward short circuiting as the reason of the fire, but investigations are on to find the exact cause.
