Multi-specialty hospital at airport city near Durgapur

The Mission Hospital of Durgapur has expressed interest in setting up a 500 bed multi specialty hospital in India’s first Aerotropolis being developed by Bengal Aerotropolis Project Limited (BAPL) at Andal.

Recently both BAPL and The Mission Hospital has signed have signed a MoU at Kolkata. This tie-up is a part of BAPL’s urban development plan that includes a domestic airport, IT skypark, logistics sky hub, health Skycity, education Skycity and other segments of integrated urban development. Subrata paul, CEO and Director of Bengal Aerotropolis Project Limited says, “We are delighted with this association as The Mission Hospital is doing great work in this region and together, we aim to take healthcare to a greater height. This is further demonstration of our commitment to develop a robust social infrastructure that will aid in the holistic progress of Asansol Durgapur Development Area in particular and the entire South Bengal as well.”
The Mission Hospital, Durgapur (A Unit of Durgapur Medical Centre Pvt. Ltd.) is a 250 bedded, state-of-the-art quaternary care hospital, with cutting edge technology. With Seven major operation theatres, 45 bedded critical care units, dedicated mother and child care unit, 24 hour Accident and Emergency department and blood bank. It is a hospital with “futuristic” technology and enriched with “brilliant minds” behind the equipment.
The Mission Hospital having already established its competency is now on an expansion spree. Apart from enhancing its existing capacity by adding 150 more beds accompanied by a dedicated cancer unit. The Mission Hospital has also acquired land at Ranchi and Siliguri to set up two more tertiary healthcare facilities. Dr. Satyajit Bose, chairman of The Mission Hospital says, “We want to set up a 500 bed multi specialty hospital here, which will improve Durgapr’s Hospital bed ratio. It will not only have all the specialties but will also perform complex nuanced procedure liver transplants as well. With the airport just 2 Km from the proposed hospital site, we will be able serve better out-of-town patients. With BAPL we are putting a seamless service network in place where we’ll have emergency medical care within the airport all the way to the hospital bed.”
