Minister of Railways and Minister of Steel were at Andal on 30/10/2010 to announce the setting up of a Rail Compartment manufacturing unit at Andal on a equal joint venture between SAIL and Rail. Andal is barely 05 Km from Durgapur.

Street road conditions of Durgapur has been very pathetic for the last 10 years. Though the conditions of the main roads have improved appreciably in the past 2 years but the street roads have not been looked into. The conditions of most of the street roads is the cause of quite a number of road accidents.
