Yogeshwar Dutt, the 29 year old wrestler has just now won Bronze for India in London Olympics. This is the fifth medal for India in London Olympics. Sushil Kumar, the winner of Bronze medal in 2008 Olympics held at Beijing is yet to fight, which means hopes for are alive for one more medal for India.
Yogeshwar Dutt is one of India’s most seasoned campaigners in wrestling, after Sushil Kumar, and has represented the country in several international events. While he had several medals to his credit before, Yogeshwar’s Gold in the Commonwealth Games propelled him as India’s hope for a medal in the London Olympics.
He took the Gold in the 2003 Commonwealth Wrestling Championships and followed it up with a Bronze in the 2006 Asian Games in Doha. This year, he won the Gold in the Asian Wrestling Championships.
Wrestling from age 8, he began training in Bhainswal Kalan, in Sonepat district of Haryana. This is indeed a great day or him and the whole country.
