CITU leader attacked ahead of election at FSNL Durgapur

Ranjit Sharma, the assistant secretary of the CITU affiliated Ferro Scrap Nigam Limited Employees Union at Durgapur was attacked by about fifty armed men in his house yesterday, just ahead of the Trade Union recognition election at FSNL on 27 March.

CPM in Durgapur has alleged that police is not taking any action against Trinamool leaders the party has named in a complaint lodged with the Durgapur SDO Kasturi Sengupta after officer in-charge of New Township police station refused to take an FIR. The officer in-charge of the New Township police station however gave a report to his higher officials that that no action could be taken as the complaint did mention the names of the accused.
