After SAIL issued official tender notification for the engagement of advisers to expedite ‘Strategic Disinvestment’ of three SAIL units in Durgapur, Salem and Bhadravati, workers of Durgapur retorted to massive protest yesterday morning under the united leadership of CITU and INTUC at the ASP factory gate.
Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP) authority allowing private contractor agency to hold own programme inside the factory premises of DSP has been condemned by both INTUC and CITU. The contractor agency deployed for slag processing at the DSP organised a programme on 9 November inside DSP in which three state ministers were invited.
After the recent assembly election, reports of INTTUC and INTUC supporters clashing against each other has been the talking point of the city of Durgapur. News of several clashes have been widely reported and in most of the cases, leaders of INTUC and their offices have been targeted by the TMC backed INTTUC supporters at the local level.
